Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Bytelink Technologies collects through this website and by email. It says why the information is collected, where it is kept and how you can access or correct it. It was last updated on 15 October 2026.
Who we are
This website is operated by Bytelink Technologies Pty Ltd (Australian Business Number 30 671 056 572), an Australian company based in Brisbane, Queensland. In this policy, 'we' and 'us' mean Bytelink Technologies. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name, your business or organisation, your email address, the service you need and a description of your project. The budget and timeframe questions are optional.
With your enquiry we also receive a record of how you arrived at the site. That record holds the type of source, such as a search engine, LinkedIn, an AI assistant, another website or a campaign link. It also holds the address of the referring website, the first page you visited and any campaign tags in the link you followed. Campaign tags are labels added to a link to show where it was published. Your browser keeps this record in session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. It is sent to us only when you submit an enquiry.
When you email us
We receive whatever you include in your email, along with your email address and name.
When you browse the site
Our hosting provider, Google Firebase Hosting, processes technical information such as IP addresses, which identify your connection, browser details and the pages requested. It needs this information to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse.
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used. It collects the pages viewed, the approximate location, the device type and how you arrived at the site. When you send an enquiry, it also records that an enquiry was sent and the service you chose, without your name, business or email address. Google Analytics sets cookies on this site to recognise your browser on a later visit. Google states that it does not log or store IP addresses. Analytics does not load if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. That signal is a browser setting that asks websites not to sell or share your information.
We do not collect sensitive information through this website, and we ask you not to include it in an enquiry. Sensitive information includes details about health, racial or ethnic origin, religion and sexual orientation.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project
- To prepare proposals and manage any work that follows
- To learn which pages and channels bring enquiries, so we can improve the site
- To keep the website secure and working
We do not sell personal information, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Where it is stored and who processes it
We use the following service providers to run this website and our email.
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase) | Receives and stores enquiry form submissions | United States |
| Google Workspace (Gmail) | Delivers enquiries to our inbox and holds our email | Google data centres, including outside Australia |
| Google Firebase Hosting | Serves this website | Global network |
| Google Analytics 4 | Measures website use | United States and other countries |
Your information may be held in the United States and other countries, because these providers store or process information outside Australia. We use Google services, which publish their security practices, and we limit what we collect to what we need.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as we need them to respond and to manage any work that results. We also keep them to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. After that we delete them. Google Analytics keeps its data about your visits for no longer than 14 months.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets cookies only for Google Analytics, which uses them to recognise your browser on a later visit. The site also stores a small record of how you arrived in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
Security
Enquiries are sent over encrypted connections. Stored enquiries cannot be read through the website, and access to our systems is limited to the people who need it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing cbuckley@bytelinktechnologies.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, email us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
